Question: What is a “Check-in” message?
Answer: Simply by calling the toll free 877#, entering their message box ID and password then recording a check-in message. This message initiates any possible follow-up responses from My Backup Buddy. Remember, the more details contained in a member created “Check-in” message, the more useful the Check-in message may be later.

Question: Who listens to a member’s Check-in message?
Answer: Usually no one will access a member‘s check-in message when a member creates a “Check-in” message and deletes their “Check-in” message within their follow-up contact preference period. When a Check-in message exceeds a member’s selected follow-up contact preference period, the member’s Check-in message may be sent to their Emergency Contact(s), or possibly used by a member’s local authority. sizeable difference.

Question: What time will My Backup Buddy call a member or
Emergency
Contact(s)?
Answer: Depends on when the member creates a check-in message and the member selected follow-up contact preference period. For example, A member selects 8 hours as their follow-up contact preference period, and did not select the immediate Emergency Contact option and the member creates a check-in message on Saturday at 9pm, and the member does not Check-in deleting their original message, by 5am Sunday morning My Backup Buddy would begin, using both email and telephone messages to reach the member. With no member “Check-in” My Backup Buddy would begin contacting alternate Emergency contacts, as soon as 11 to 14 hours from the original member created check-in message, or in this example about 8am
Sunday morning.

Question: During a follow-up message, can I delete my Check-in message?
Answer: No, Follow-up messages are only to alert a member to “Check-in” with My Backup Buddy. When My Backup Buddy is calling a member’s telephone and, for example, the member is not actually answering the phone, there is not a way to “interrupt” the follow-up process, unless the member separately Checks-in using their login name and password. Once a member Checks-in, any follow-up processes are terminated.
